Special Issue Introduction

Nanocellulose, derived from natural sources such as wood, plants, and algae, is a promising material known for its exceptional mechanical properties, biodegradability, and versatility. Its unique characteristics, including a high surface area and customizable surface chemistry, have enabled its use in a wide range of applications, spanning biomedicine, packaging, electronics, and environmental protection. This Special Issue delves into the latest processing techniques, composite material development, and innovative applications of nanocellulose across multiple industries, offering a comprehensive technical overview while promoting a broader understanding and adoption of this material as a sustainable choice.

By exploring mechanical, chemical, and enzymatic processing methods, along with innovations in nanocellulose-based composites, we aim to present the forefront of nanocellulose technology and facilitate its optimized use in industrial applications.
