Mechanism and high-entropy design for high-performance piezoelectrics

Dr. Jun Chen is a full professor at Hainan University in China. He received his Ph.D. from USTB in 2007. Supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship, he conducted research at TU-Darmstadt in Germany from 2008 to 2009. In 2015, he served as an overseas guest professor at the Materials and Structures Laboratory of the Institute of Science Tokyo in Japan. In 2019, he was a visiting scientist in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Padova in Italy. He was awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2018. Dr. Chen has authored over 200 journal articles published in journals such as Science, Physical Review Letters, and the Journal of the American Chemical Society. His current research focuses on crystal structures, their correlations with physical and chemical properties, and the design of new materials for applications in ferroelectrics, piezoelectrics, and negative thermal expansion solids.
