Special Issue Introduction

With the growing demand for multifunctionality, integration, and miniaturization of electronics, traditional dielectric materials struggle to satisfy new requirements, such as balanced dielectric properties and good flexibility. Therefore, dielectric composites have attracted wide attention due to their outstanding processibility, design versatility, and superior dielectric properties. This Special Issue aims to present the latest research and innovations in the development of dielectric composites that can contribute to advancements in both dielectric theory and the development of high-performance dielectric materials.

The scope of the Special Issue covers a wide range of topics related to dielectric composites, including:
● Basic principles of the theory of dielectric composite;
● Microstructure design and characterization of dielectric composites;
● Process and microstructure of dielectric composites;
● Interfacial characterization of composite dielectrics;
● Design of flexible, hybrid, and metamaterials, novel applications of dielectric composites, etc.

We invite researchers from academia, industry, and institutions to submit contributions that focus on the scientific and engineering innovations in dielectric composites. Manuscripts may address various structures and explore the relationship between microstructure and functionalities, such as polymer composites, polymer-ceramics composites, metal-ceramics composites, organic-inorganic composites, hybrid materials, etc.

This Special Issue seeks to highlight groundbreaking research in innovative composite dielectrics and technologies that could transform existing practices and enable new applications. We invite contributions focused on the development of high-performance composite dielectrics and technology solutions for energy conservation and storage, dielectric tunability, pulse power energy storage, solid-state cooling, and microwave transmission, among others.

Our goal is to advance research in dielectric composites by bringing together leading experts and providing a platform for sharing and exchanging knowledge on the diverse scientific and engineering approaches that drive high-performance composite dielectrics across various sectors.
