Aims
Nanomedicine Therapeutics is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality, innovative research and reviews at the forefront of therapeutic nanomedicine. The journal aims to serve as a premier platform for disseminating groundbreaking discoveries that bridge nanoscale material design and clinical therapeutic applications. Our mission is to accelerate the translation of nanomedical innovations from the laboratory bench to the patient's bedside, addressing unmet clinical needs across a wide spectrum of diseases. Nanomedicine Therapeutics strives to be the journal of first choice for researchers in academia, industry, and clinical practice to share transformative work that defines the future of targeted and intelligent therapeutics.
Scope
The scope of Nanomedicine Therapeutics encompasses the entire pipeline of therapeutic nanomedicine, from the rational design and synthesis of novel biocompatible materials to preclinical evaluation, clinical translation, and the understanding of biological interactions. The journal focuses on interdisciplinary research that integrates principles from chemistry, materials science, biology, engineering, and medicine to create advanced nanoscale systems for disease treatment.
Research topics suitable for publication include, but are not limited to:
- Nanocarrier Design & Drug Delivery: Lipid nanoparticles, polymeric micelles, dendrimers, inorganic nanoparticles, and exosomes for the encapsulation and controlled release of small molecules, biologics, nucleic acids (e.g., short interfering RNA [siRNA], messenger RNA [mRNA]), and gene therapies.
- Targeted Therapeutics & Stimuli-Responsive Systems: Active targeting using ligands (e.g., antibodies, peptides) and passive targeting (e.g., the enhanced permeability and retention [EPR] effect), as well as systems responsive to internal (pH, enzymes, redox) or external (light, magnetic fields, ultrasound) stimuli.
- Diagnostic & Therapeutic Integration (Theranostics): Multifunctional nanoplatforms that combine imaging modalities (optical imaging, magnetic resonance imaging [MRI], computed tomography [CT], photoacoustic imaging) with therapeutic approaches for image-guided therapy and treatment monitoring.
- Immunotherapy & Vaccines: Nanomaterials as adjuvants, antigen delivery vehicles, or immune modulators for cancer immunotherapy, infectious disease vaccines, and the treatment of autoimmune disorders.
- Regenerative Medicine & Tissue Engineering: Nanostructured scaffolds, nanofiber matrices, and bioactive nanomaterial coatings for cell delivery, tissue repair, and regenerative therapies.
- Overcoming Biological Barriers: Strategies to enhance circulation time, overcome mucosal, blood-brain barrier, and tumor microenvironment barriers, and improve cellular uptake.
- Biosafety, Toxicology, & Translation: Studies on biocompatibility, long-term toxicity, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, biodistribution, immunogenicity, and scalable manufacturing relevant to clinical translation.
- Personalized & Precision Nanomedicine: Nanosystems tailored for patient-specific therapy based on genetic, proteomic, or pathological profiles.
