On the left, the RBP-dependent pathway involves the recognition of specific miRNA motifs by RBPs, which guide miRNAs to MVBs for incorporation into exosomes. On the right, the RBP-independent pathway is associated with lipid rafts, where miRNAs are incorporated into exosomes via membrane lipid interactions, bypassing the need for RBPs.
