Advanced Energy Conversion is an international peer-reviewed, open access, online journal.

Aims and Scope

Advanced Energy Conversion is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing cutting-edge research that advances the science, technology, and applications of energy conversion systems. The journal provides a platform for disseminating innovative approaches that improve efficiency, sustainability, and carbon reduction across all forms of energy conversion, with special emphasis on advanced processes, integrated energy systems, novel reactor concepts, carbon reduction pathways, and practical approaches that link laboratory research with large-scale and industrial applications.
Advanced Energy Conversion publishes Articles, Communications, Mini/Reviews, Research Highlights and Perspectives with original research works focusing on the challenges of sustainable energy for the future. Studies that offer new insights into the thermochemical, electrochemical, and photochemical conversion of renewable and conventional resources, as well as waste-to-energy and negative-emission technologies, will be given preference.

Research topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Thermochemical and biochemical processes for biomass, biowaste, and fossil fuel upgrading.
  • Electrochemical energy conversion and storage, including fuel cells, batteries, and supercapacitors.
  • Carbon neutrality and negativity strategies, such as CO2 capture, utilization, and storage.
  • Next-generation renewable energy systems, including solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, hydrogen, and hybrid integration.
  • Waste-to-energy technologies and circular economy approaches for sustainable resource utilization.
  • Waste heat recovery and utilization, including organic Rankine cycle, thermoelectric generation, and related technologies.
  • Modeling, simulation, and optimization of energy conversion processes and systems.
  • Low-carbon and negative-emission technologies, supporting net-zero transitions.
  • Energy policy, techno-economic analysis, and life cycle assessment linked to advanced conversion pathways.
