Dr. Guoping Li is an accomplished biomedical researcher and Assistant Professor of Anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School. He is also a principal investigator at the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Li's research focuses on the development of novel RNA-based therapeutics and the biological functions of extracellular vesicles in cardiovascular, metabolic, and neurodegenerative diseases. His laboratory investigates two major areas:
1. Cellular and extracellular tRNA-derived small RNAs (tDRs) in cardiac, metabolic, and neurodegenerative diseases;
2. Extracellular vesicles and non-vesicular nanoparticles-mediated intercellular and interorgan crosstalk in cardiac, metabolic, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Dr. Li's pioneering work in RNA biology and extracellular vesicle (EV) research has resulted in over 130 publications in prestigious journals including Science, Cell Metabolism, Advanced Science, Circulation, and Journal of Extracellular Vesicles. Dr. Li has been honored with the American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fellowship, American Heart Association Career Development Award, National Institutes of Health Exploratory Award, Best Oral Abstract Award and Young Scientist Award at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cardiovascular Research Center Annual Retreat, and the Young Scientist Award at the American Heart Association Basic Cardiovascular Sciences Asian Symposium.
