Special Topic Introduction
The pursuit of efficient energy storage and conversion technologies is paramount for achieving global sustainability goals. While individual materials often face inherent performance bottlenecks, precise interfacial engineering and developing advanced composite structures offer a powerful paradigm to overcome these limitations. This Special Issue, titled "Interfacial and Composite Material Design for Advanced Batteries, Photocatalysis, and Electrocatalysis," focuses on the synergistic effects achieved by rationally combining heterogeneous components and meticulously tuning their interfaces.
Interfacial engineering is crucial for optimizing charge transport kinetics, enhancing thermodynamic stability, and maximizing active site utilization in both electrochemical and photochemical systems. We invite researchers to contribute original research articles and critical reviews addressing the synthesis, advanced characterization, and mechanistic understanding of composite energy materials. Topics of interest span advanced battery technologies (such as metal-ion and solid-state systems) and heterogeneous catalysis (photo- and electrocatalysis). By compiling cutting-edge research, this Special Issue aims to deepen our fundamental understanding of interfacial phenomena, ultimately guiding the design of next-generation devices for a sustainable energy future.
