Special Issue Introduction
As fossil fuel consumption escalates and environmental issues worsen, there is an urgent demand to optimize energy utilization and seek renewable and clean energy sources. Nanostructured materials, known for their diverse architectures with high catalytic activity and stability, have drawn worldwide concern and increasing research interest related to energy conversion and storage. This has contributed to the advances in the materials design, precise synthesis methodologies, performance improvement, and mechanism understanding of current catalytic systems. Furthermore, the rapid development of nano-scale catalytic materials featuring controllable sizes, shapes, compositions, structures, and crystal phases has propelled research in advanced electrocatalysts, high tolerance to poisoning substances, and reliable condition monitoring techniques, greatly promoting their commercialization.
This Special Issue aims to present and disseminate the latest advancements regarding the material design, precise synthesis, applications, theory/mechanism, and condition monitoring of all types of catalytic systems.
Topics of interest for publication include, but are not limited to:
● Atomically precise metal nanomaterials;
● Functional materials with tunable sizes, shapes, compositions, interfaces, and interior crystal phases;
● Novel electrocatalysis applications;
● Theoretical models and analyses;
● High-performance electrocatalysts;
● Photo-electrocatalysis;
● Thermo-catalysis;
● Electrocatalyst design and optimization;
● Advanced synthetical approaches;
● Thermal and kinetics analyses involved in the synthesis and electrochemical application.
