Congratulations to Associate Editor Professor Aicheng Chen Elected to the Royal Society of Canada as Fellow of the Academy of Science
January 2, 2025, Ottawa, Canada – The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) has announced the election of Professor Aicheng Chen, a distinguished scholar and Associate Editor of Chemical Synthesis (CS), as a Fellow of the Academy of Science. The prestigious recognition honors Professor Chen's outstanding contributions to scientific research and innovation.

In his acceptance speech, Professor Chen conveyed his deep appreciation:
“I am truly honored and delighted to be elected to such a distinguished group of scholars. I have been fortunate to supervise many brilliant students and post-doctoral fellows, whose contributions to my research have been invaluable. This recognition would not be possible without their dedicated efforts. Together, we strive to discover and develop advanced electrochemical technologies that address some of the world's most pressing challenges.”

About Professor Aicheng Chen
Professor Chen is a tenured professor at the University of Guelph and Director of the Electrochemical Technology Centre. On September 3, 2024, he was formally honored by the RSC for his groundbreaking work in electrochemistry, green chemistry, biosensors, material science, and nanotechnology. His research has been instrumental in advancing the development of nanomaterials and their application in clean energy and environmental sustainability.
Professor Chen holds several prestigious positions, including Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Electrochemistry and Nanoscience, Fellow of the Canadian Chemical Society (FCIC), Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), and Fellow of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE). His extensive list of accolades includes the Ontario Premier's Award for Outstanding Research Achievement, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Award, and the Canadian Electrochemical Society Award for Excellence, among many others.
